I am just thrilled to hear this. A win-win-win for everyone -- Gibson, their customers, the industry, even the city of Bozeman. Just terrific.

I wonder if the industry execs track the number of $200-$500 guitar sales, as a predictor of future $1500+ sales? Im sure theyre quite aware of GAS...

+1 Quality of almost any product suffers during/after such rapid growth. In my experience anyway. I hope it works out wonderfully though.

Seems like the company wants to do something positive.
Why hate on that?

I, too, am happy to see a domestic manufacturer expanding its operation. Gibson certainly has a history of bad financial decisions, but the new ownership seems to be trying to head things in the right direction.

I think they make great guitars, and they are apparently selling them. Does anyone think the expansion Martin made in ‘64 was a mistake? It was at what looked like the height of a guitar boom. Ok I wish em the best!

Wow - more than doubling in size going from 23,000 square feet and increasing by 25,000. 10,000 square feet will be used for office space, showroom, reception area and day care. Kudos on the day care space.

Are all Gibson acoustics made in Bozeman? Anything in Nashville?

Exactly my thoughts. An American company growing during what's being reported as hard times for a lot of businesses. And it happens to be a great guitar company, seems like good news to me....

They hired a bunch of ladies off the street who needed a job
during WWII and everyone loves those guitars...

Yes, all the acoustic guitars are made in Bozeman. Arch tops and mandolins are made in Nashville.

i wish them well!
in the last few years, every Gibson i've set up has been very nice, to exceptional , in build, finish, tone, weight, and playability. Of course you have to like their particular tone to enjoy the brand, just like any other maker.

I really hope that means they’ll bring back the recently discontinued G45 and J15 model lines!

As the first time owner of a new Gibson acoustic guitar I know I paid for a large chunk of this.
