Default Opening up for John Mayall

I'm pretty sure this was filmed at The Birchmere in VA

Wow, Toby... that was fabulous! Loved it.

And opening for John Mayall? Not exactly a blues slacker... congrats!

Nice to see you here!

John Mayall and the Blues Breakers, that was IT for me back in the day. Tons of great music. Clapton at his best playing a Marshal and Les Paul. Peter Green when he was running on all cylinders. Mick Taylor before he waisted his time with the Stones. There was a time when I thought every blues guitarist sounded and played like them. Not. Some how Mayall made it happen and made it seem so easy. Great sounding records. Better then allot of blues records today.

Hi Toby,

Good to see you back on the AGF! I remember seeing this video of "I Know You Rider" way back when you first came onto the AGF! It was cool then, it's cool now! Very nice job!

And how cool to open for John Mayall.

I hope all is well for you!

- Glenn

Wow, John Mayall is 85 and still touring! He's doing Europe - Germany Belgium, Netherlands , then the UK playing 15 nights in November, then on to Ireland
then 12c gigs across the US before trotting down to Australia in April.

The man's unstoppable!

Are you traveling with him Toby?

Superlatives fail me! Glad to hear John Mayall is still kickin. He and I share a birthday but that's where the resemblance ends. I saw him open for the Average White Band. Imagine that!

'Back To The Roots' was one of my favorite albums in the early 70's.

Awesome performance! I kind of feel sorry for any headliner who has to follow something as good as that!

Mine as well... had all of my favorite players on that one. I asked John about that, as I think I was the only one who knew that he was inspired by the late Albert Ammons. He kind of was impressed that I knew that one. LOL
