Default SOLD: Seagull S6+ Folk guitar w/ TRIC case- $225

I have only one rule with guitars: no more than five of them at a time. So this one's number is up.

The Seagull S6 Folk is often praised hereabouts for its tone and playability. It's barely larger than a parlour guitar, but provides much more volume and bass than most of them. This is a great fingerpickers' guitar, with its 1.8 inch nut width and aged cedar top (this is a 2002 model). I've added a bone saddle from Mac Pherson, and that added some heft to the bass. This does not sound like a small guitar!

You won't likely find another one this old in better playing condition. After a couple frets started rising last winter, I had a shop correct all problematic frets and do a complete setup, totaling about $100 of work. Today, it's the probably the easiest-playing acoustic I own.

Included is an almost-new Seagull TRIC case. An interesting fact: mice find the foam lining of these case straps irresistibly tasty. That's why this case is missing its shoulder straps, but it's otherwise pristine.

The top has a couple of dents below the bridge that show up against the light. There's a patch below the soundhole, where fingertips rested, where the grain is opening up and feels rougher. There's no discoloration, and it could be sanded down. Such is the life of a middle-aged cedartop- let's call them "beauty marks."

Overall, this guitar profiles as a fine campfire or cabin guitar. It's also an excellent choice for a novice player looking for maximum sound from minimal effort. I'm open to reasonable offers on this, but no trades. I have a six-guitar problem, remember?

This looks like a great example of what are immensely fun guitars to play. I had a spruce top SWS folk and let it go all too soon. That's the one I think about when I'm rolling over in bed. Good luck!

Default Zombie thread?

Please take note:

This thread is about three months old with no activity until earlier today.
Perhaps the OP will tune in and clarify the current status of the guitar.

Default Price Drop to $250

Yes, it's still available, and I still need to thin my herd.

Default Laminate or solid wood?

I'm looking for a camping guitar. Would prefer laminate back and sides. What about this Seagull in that regard? Thanks. Larry

Default Yep...

That's exactly what it is, Seagull's common Wild Cherry Laminate with a solid Cedar top.

I have a seagull s6. Great guitars at a killer price. I like it so much i picked up a used seagull parlor. You can't go wrong at $250.
