Default Jackson Browne

Saw him last night at Symphony Hall in Phoenix. Consummate professional at the ripe old age of 69. It was interesting to see him and his incredible band. His main go to acoustics seemed to be a Martin all Mahogany and a Gibson J-15 (?) Sunburst. The other band members were mostly Fender Strats and Teles.

Seeing him in early August outdoors in Los Angeles. Very excited!

Saw him last month at the Beacon Theater- great show!
He’s playing Levon’s Woodstock in August.

I saw him 2 or 3 years ago, a really good concert.

I saw him perform a fantastic joint concert with David Lindley at an outdoor venue a few years ago. Unfortunately, it was the worst audience ever, constantly yelling requests. When David Lindley took over for a brief solo set, everybody stood up and starting milling about, as if he was just there for background music. I don't think I've ever seen a musician of his talent disrespected like that.

I was fortunate to see Jackson live in Richmond, VA back in April this year. My first time seeing JB, and it was just great! Bruce Hornsby joined him later in the show on a few numbers. I suppose Jackson must travel with a tractor trailer full of guitars? Seems a different guitar was brought out to him for each song!

That's unfortunate. I think anybody who really appreciates Jackson Browne's music would also appreciate David Lindley's enormous talent. JB's music would not be what it is without David Lindley's many brilliant contributions, such as his slide/lap steel work on songs like "The Fuse" and "Running on Empty", or his fiddle playing on "Before the Deluge". DL is a virtuoso on just about any kind of stringed instrument.

There are VERY few as proficient as he on both guitar and piano. Add in almost 50 years of great tunes and it makes him pretty much a national treasure.

If "Late for the Sky" is not my all-time favorite album, it is certainly in the Top 3.

I've got Jackson Browne Radio playing right now on Pandora. I've heard all of these songs a million times in the past 50 (!) years but am still amazed at them.

Great show. He played 10 different guitars including an electric Martin. Does anybody know what that was? I’ve never seen one of those before.

Are you sure that was a J15?
I thought he plays a custom build J45 12 fret.

saw him solo about 4 years ago in a small auditorium in Tn. He had a rack of guitars-I'm guessing 18, all acoustic, and he explained to the small crowd that he kept some in special tunings to be used for one song. he let a local young man play with him on a few songs on weissenborn.

amazing show.

he would play something, then someone would yell out one of his songs, he would "gotcha", run over, slide a different guitar out, then play that song, then another song would yelled out-it was all very respectful, and he and the crowd enjoyed it. after 2 hours he stood up and said the show was actually over, and he apologized for holding us so long. everyone was standing and cheering, and he said something like "you know, I still have a few songs left in me if some of you want to stay around and listen", the place erupted, he played about 5 more songs.

amazing artist and super nice

My wife and I got last minute nosebleed seats for Jackson’s solo tour and few years ago. We arrived and realized that we were so far up we could barely see him. He seems to enjoy interacting with the audience. My wife would wait until everyone had called out their requests before standing up and screaming out her own. Jackson acknowledged her request four times. It was amazing. He realized that we weren’t able to get good seats and played her requests. It was as close to a religious experience that we’ve ever had. Brilliant mind and incredible talent combined with a humble personality. Best show ever!!!!!
