Default Dion Guitars NAMM offering

With a couple of guitars out the door for finish, it’s time to start a new one. I’ll be showing this guitar at NAMM as part of The Boutique Guitar Showcase.

This will be a Model No.04 in Italian spruce over European Birdseye maple.

I’m really thrilled with this spruce I got from Bachman tone woods. This will be the third guitar I’ve built with it, they’ve provided me with perfect wood!

Here are a few photos of today’s first shift progress. Still some final voicing and cleanup to do, but I should have this top on today.

Thanks! I’m calling it the symmetrical “speaker cone” bracing system. It really moves a lot of air.

One last look before I close the box.

Starting the fingerboard and head veneer while the glue dries.

Very clean and sweet. I love that you post different things on Facebook - your little quick-time videos over there are great fun.

Thanks Stan! I’ve always loved watching little build videos, so I thought I ought to contribute.

I glued the fingerboard on today. The neck will get carved over the next couple days, final sand over the weekend and send this one off for finish.
