Default Guitar pick story #96: a ticket to ride

A patient told me this story today.
Back in the 40s his great grandmother was approached by a young man at a small town bus station needing Money for a ticket. He offered his guitar for $5. She bought it from him.
The guitar later passed down to his grandfather who later sold it for $25. Later his grand father saw the same model guitar selling for $400. And now the grandchildren see the same selling for thousands.
As you can guess, it was a Martin.
He said they often sit around wondering if the guy got another guitar and maybe became real famous. Maybe a country legend. Why that guitar could be worth $40,000 now. If only...grandpa had not sold it...if only they knew.
