Wax on - wax off - wax on - wax off

More mismatched pictures probably Mary's fault, but still fun to see.

And a quick shot of the Silver Bullet which is one of the sister guitars

The rough draft is still pretty rough. Plenty of hand crafting yet to do

Default Lacquer finish

I just viewed again the photos of the finish work on this 12 string, and it makes the inlays GLOW with energy.

I am asking Madame Mary to assist my challenged self in uploading the photos here so that you may see for yourself .

Today Tim did the wet sanding, prepped and attached the neck.

He removed and measured the finish comparing it to a sheet of computer paper.

The turtles are the fun part of this guitar. I really am attracted to the layout indicating the livelihood that they want to scurry about on the guitar. You can see the details and why the final cleaning takes time.

Company came. I realized I forgot to share these. Take a look as he wet sands and does the buffing!

This is Tim's favorite part.

Been busy but let's get caught up with leveling the fretboard. Sanding and leveling takes time and muscle.

Chalking again and again to do some double nd triple checking

Time to set the neck.

Beginning pictures as he cleans the fret slots.

The 12 string peg head is pretty snazzy. Be sure to notice the classy tuner backs with the McKnight Knight head logo.

This first picture is a new toy for the McKnight Guitar shop. it is a jig to sand the bottom of the saddle and nut. Tim has called it a skate. (I never learned how to skate.)

The Pick guard is now also in place.

It’s worth noting that the nut and saddle are laminated and made from reclaimed vintage ivory piano key caps.
