I had the same problem. I use D'Addario coated strings, but I think that "nonweb" and "polyweb" are propriety to Elixir strings, so I didn't select either option.

Most of my guitars are wearing Martin Retros these days, regardless.

I tend to put Elixirs on my Taylors and John Pearse PBs or 80/20s on others. But, I'm always willing to try something different.

Default Poll: what strings do you use?

I use primarily GHS strings. I also use John Pearse, Lowden, and Newtones. Most of my guitars sound best with PBs but occasionally I will use 80/20s.
Best,
Jayne

I checked every box. Do I get a free sandwich now?

I love Martin Monel on a couple of acoustics. I've used various phosphor bronze strings for more than 40 years and occasionally 80/20 as an alternative. I'm currently more uncoated that coated, but despite the oft-expressed strong opinions on every forum since they came out, I like Elixirs for sound, feel, and in my experience longevity. It's just YMMV I guess. I even have a Polyweb coated set (the OG thicker stocking-like coating) on an acoustic sitting a few feet from me as they reduce recording string squeak more than anything and actually feel kind to my fingers. I use that guitar for composing, impromptu and last-thought overdubs in my little "Studio B" spare room at home.

Besides Elixir brand and the Martin Retro Monel's, I've liked John Pearse and DR Sunbeams enough to be a regular return customer over the years.

Oh, and I checked other, to complete the set because I have a nylon string guitar just restrung with D'Addario XTC45 XT. Supposedly corrosion resistant we'll see on that. They say the wound strings are "silver plated copper" so that's my "other."

I really dig the Monel strings. They feel and sound just right to me.
I’ve never used the “webbing” kind of strings, but the boys that set up my new Taylor 414ce tell me that’s what they come with out of the factory. I’m not sold on them. I think that guitar will sound better with other strings. The webbing throws me off, even if it’s the “thin” kind of webbing. I think it’s time to put on a set of monels and see what pans out.

D'Addario XS.

So far, the best "coated" strings I've ever laid my hands on.

(I used elixir's for years, but the shredding on even the nano after a few weeks is just a buzz kill for me)

Nickel bronze on 15 series.
Phosphor bronze used to be my go-tos and still are what I compare others to.
GHS vintage bronze 85/15s for bright but not too bright.
Silk and Steel (Martin or D'addario) or variation there of for fingerstyle.
Coated to try something different, longevity and on the Big Baby.

I use mainly P/Br but also use some coated qand other rarer types depending on the guitar tone I am looking for.

I'm fine with every other brand of coated strings I've ever tried, like D'Addario and Curt Mangan, it's just whatever coating Elixir uses just doesn't work with my skin chemistry/composition/type/ridge pattern/growth rings/star sign/hair style .. or whatever!
