Piezo Transducer to Output Jack Wire?
Totally dumb question.... I've searched Amazon high and low for the type of stranded wire/cable used on the K&K Pure and other piezo pickups to connect the elements to the output jack. As I'm sure everyone knows it's just a thin flexible cable containing a single white insulated stranded copper wire along with an uninsulated stranded copper wire used as ground. The wires are probably around 26 to 28 AWG. Doesn't seem like this should be hard to find in bulk but I've had no luck. So far I'm down to cannibalizing old RCA cables......

I think I use Mogami W2368. I know JJB uses even smaller but for me it is fine.

I've done a lot of interconnect wiring in the past and used to do exactly what you are doing. I used to pick up cables from my local Radio Shack and cut whatever I needed.
You can get the inexpensive audio cables from Monoprice, a 50 foot cable will set you back a whopping 2 bucks. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=648 I did find the numbers for the small shielded interconnect cable by doing a search over on the pickup winders forum. I believe it was a Belden number and I ordered a spool from I believe Digikey. That was a long time ago, so I don't remember the details. I purchased it to use as small size shielded wire to attach to magnetic pickups I used to wind. The stuff I bought was a light gray, small diameter, and very flexible. StewMac has expanded what they offer and you can now purchase spools of shielded interconnect wire from them, too. https://www.stewmac.com/Pickups_and_...-_25_feet.html Last edited by Rudy4; 12-12-2019 at 09:14 PM. |

Thanks. Ordered a 50 footer from Mono price. I didn't think it would be so hard to find a thin single conductor cable with a bare ground.
