. . . or- was there a J-, or CJ-165 without the abalone binding? One of those would be considered as well.

Mostly interested in a (all-acoustic hopefully) Gibson with that body style, especially one with Sitka top.

A Gibson EC-20 or little thicker EC-30/Blues King Electro is a J-185 without the binding. Both excellent guitars.

I'm not sure. There is an older Blues King from Gibson that's not a cutaway, but it's not a EC series. It's interesting what people want and don't want. I'm a cutaway player and won't buy anything that's not a cutaway, some are just the opposite. It's great we both have options!
