Pickguard Removal on a Rainsong???
I'm wondering if a pickguard-ectomy should be done any differently on a Rainsong with glossy finish than on a wooden guitar top. Thanks...

I cannot comment. My WS-1000 came without a pickguard back in the day, and I added a stick on clear vinyl one. It has relatively few marks on it, so is probably redundant.
My guess is that pickguard removal would be no different than for a wood guitar, although with CF you are much less likely to peel up wood if you got too enthusiastic. |

I was concerned about the heat and naphtha messing up the glossy finish....

It's a pretty tough automotive type clear-coat. Use a hair dryer, not a blowtorch, and it should be OK. If you are still in doubt, call Rainsong and get the definitive answer.

Came off very easily taking all the goop with it but none of the finish....

Have gone full circle. The seller had supplied a mis-sized pickguard that could be reapplied, I removed the one that I installed, and reapplied the original after doing some trimming...
