Default My Favorite Four Words

So, after surfing around all the 12 string threads of late, particularly the one whose kids were giving grief for his 12 string desire, I started one again getting GAS for one. So, yes, I'm blaming the AGF for my GAS. And I'd told my wife, after my last purchase of my Taylor 314ce, that this would be my last. (I know, I'm a bold faced liar!). Anyway, I didn't want to get greedy, and settled on the Guild F2512 e, from guitar center, including a gig bag, free shipping (from another store), plus a 15% discount off the already discounted price. So, I'm looking forward to unboxing it on Friday. I was speaking to my wife about wanting this, and after 2 margaritas heard those great 4 words: "You should get it."
Can't wait.
Best,
LarryK.

When I think of one of those Guild 12 strings, I see an image of Moses standing up on that rock with one of them in his hands, parting the Red Sea!

Big fan of the Guild F2512e

Mine currently needs a setup but it scratches the 12 string itch well

I played one at GC the other day and thought it was a lot better sounding and playing than all the other 12 strings in it's price range.

Congrats - let us know how you like it.

I have to get back to the local GC. I have never seen a Guild there, except for used ones. If they are carrying Guild, that is good news to me. (But, perhaps, not for my bank account).

Yes, the dealer I was speaking to cited several stores that were carrying them.

When it arrives, carefully inspect the bridge to ensure that it's not separating from the top. This is apparently a bit of a problem with these guitars, and Guild will ship you a replacement if necessary. I bought a fantastic F-2512 online, but sent it back after noticing the bridge problem. Unfortunately, the replacement doesn't have the same zing as the one I sent back. Still trying to dial it in...

Thanks, Rick, for this helpful intel. I'll be opening and inspecting it at the store, and will closely monitor. I will keep you posted.
Many thanks,
LarryK.
