Thanks Tom! I had a block of Cocobolo I put aside maybe 10 years ago with future fretboards in mind. The time came and every board is a new adventure when you start cutting into it. It yielded five fretboards. The one with the white profile line is the one we went with on this guitar:

Thanks doodahdoug! There is a lot of color and figure waiting under that unfinished wood!

Thanks Ovation1! I try to make each guitar unique and it helps if I can envision a clear theme to build upon. That process is certainly more art than engineering. Which is not to say that engineering, at its best, is not art also!

Thanks ukejon! The guitar is in the finishing process now and I’m excited to see how it finally comes together. In the meantime I have a lot going on. I have a Tree guitar to start in November and a second Tree order which I just got the back and side sets for. I’m just starting a second Fiddleback Tree guitar.
I purchased a beautiful pommel Sapele billet that I expect will make some gorgeous guitars.
There is a lot more in the works which I’ll be posting about. No pictures today, I’m on vacation at the shore in a little town In New Jersey where Karen and I used to live.
