I'll admit to games of Risk that started on Friday afternoon after class and ended Saturday afternoon. Great Times!
There's also a couple of other games played with dominos, namely 42 and moon. 42 is similar to spades and is a 4 player game, Moon is also similar but is a 3 player game, for when you can't find a 4th for 42. It's simple enough to learn quickly, but can be complex enough to be entertaining. Both are better than the game usually played with dominos.

I also love Balderdash - one of my favorites
Apples to Apples always is fun in our family
Bananagrams

There was an inappropriate game in the 90's. It's been discontiunued. Everyone only played it once because it caused so many fights. It's sort of a "ask the other player a character quesiton then declare if you think they are lying". Horrible game. Glad I can't remember the name.

Thanks so much for all the great suggestions you guys. I’m going to have Mrs Wadcutter view this thread with me later so she can see it as well and we can agree on a few pics here. Much appreciated amigos and I will continue to monitor this thread for any future recommendations. 👍

Apples to Apples with the kids.
Cards Against Humanity for the adults.

Exploding Kittens --- my kids love this game (and the app!).
This vide explains it better than I can:

Wits & Wagers
One person reads a trivia question with a numeric answer. Everyone writes down their best guess. Then you lay them out in numeric order, and everyone gets to bet on who has the closest answer. You get coins for being right, as well as for betting on the person with the best answer.

Not a board game per se, but we have had a lot of fun with Pass the Pigs, originally called Pigmania. You roll pig-shaped dice and score for things like "siders", "hoofers", "razorbacks", and "leaning jowlers".

I personally also like Boggle quite a lot. And chess.

Yeah, I guess my suggestions were more card than board games. Oops!

As an intro to strategy games, I'll suggest (as others have) Carcassonne and Ticket To Ride: Europe as well as Munchkin and Hanabi.

Is it just you and the Mrs. playing? Or will there be others? Carcassonne and Hanabi work well with two people (or more). Hanabi is particularly addicting because it's cooperative so it encourages you to keep playing to outperform yourselves. For two people 7 Wonders: Duel is another great choice.

Avalon and Coup are very fun games if you like social deduction/buffing elements.

If you want something a little more involved, check out Dominion and Terraforming Mars.

And someday, if you really get hooked on the strategy game bandwagon, Caverna, Agricola, Terra Mystica, Scythe, Puerto Rico, or Power Grid

You place bets on a camel race around a pyramid in the desert. A mix of strategy and good fun.

Losers always get the hump.

If you can set it up where you can leave it for days - or weeks - on end, and love WWII history, try Axis & Allies....
