If you've been considering an Epi Masterbilt...
- this could be your big chance:
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...ion-honeyburst https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...intage-natural https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...intage-natural Bursts and round-hole versions are also available, same price... Then again this might be the long-rumored phaseout of the slow-selling current models in favor of historically more-accurate carved instruments, along the lines of the very successful Eastman lineup and at comparable prices; if you gotta have one you gotta have one (I don't, since they're neither fish nor fowl in terms of either tone or historical accuracy - and that Louisville Slugger neck is an immediate deal-breaker ) but personally I'd take a wait-&-see approach for the next couple of NAMM shows - and if D'Angelico and Gretsch step up to the challenge (the latter actually made a fine-sounding cats'-eye 17" Synchromatic 300 reissue in the $1500 range a few years ago, that was prematurely discontinued) it could re-ignite the '30s-40s New York archtop wars all over again...

Very good price indeed! I understand that these are not for the archtop purist, but they are really nice in providing a unique sound.

I bought an F-Hole Zenith model from Sweetwater recently. The electronics are awful, but I really like the guitar otherwise. I was a little skeptical about the chunky neck, but now that I've played it a bit, I actually prefer it to the thin neck Applause that was my daily beater. Sounds great, feels great, and it's dang pretty, IMO (you can't day here). I was kind of surprised by the wow factor when I took it out of the case. These are definitely excellent prices.
