I just got Band in a Box a few days ago and installed it on my computer, and I'm really impressed. There's all kinds of rhythm possibilities, and it's very easy to selectively mute some of the intruments and pare it down to just drums, or maybe drums plus bass. For home practice where guitar and computer are in the same place it's great.

Apparently iRealb for iphone, tablets etc is excellent too, probably better with the added portability aspect.
