Default Add Stereo output Jack to a Rainsong

I need to install a second output jack for my newly acquired Submarine Pro pickup.

Where is the best place to put it? It is a COWS1000-N2

You can put it right next to the other jack. When I installed a K&K in a Shorty it was easy, but I did use a carbide tip bit to widen the hole after taking out the strap button. Just wore an N95 mask and used some painter’s tape to protect the finish around the area to be drilled. Vacuum out the inside and maybe use a lock washer to keep it from moving. Never had any issues. I bought the bit from Harbor Freight… just needs to be strong because the side material was so strong (and it was a carbon/ fiberglass mix)!

This is probably stating the obvious, but did you consider replacing the existing jack with a stereo version?

I did but I am actually using 2 distinct pickups.

Undersaddle pickup and adding a "Submarine Pro" pickup. The is a soundhole pickup that uses the TRS to direct the signal as you wish or turn off individual strings.

Got it. I was unfamiliar with the Submarine, and should have looked it up first

I may be chasing rainbows but...... Pretty sure it is too much of a pain for live performance but the recording side intrigues me.

I did a quick video but the sound is not up to snuff, I will make a comprehensive video with better audio to go over the features.

Default Stereo Pickups

Hi Gibson guy: and here I thought I was onto an original idea!? Just for fun, I ran my ‘82 Ovation Adamas ll stereo out to (2) separate guitar amps; one Ch (strings 6-4-2) through a Boss Octaver and Ch (5-3-1) through a chorus. I wanted to simulate having a bass guitar kick in here and there. Worked pretty good, but of course, it was easy to create “mud” with the Oct trying to track 3 strings. This brings me to a couple Qs for anyone out there: 1) are there other guitar mfgthat offer a stereo pickup? 2) is there an aftermarket stereo preamp / pickup system out there to retro into a non-electric acoustic guitar? Gibson Guy, you seem to have a pretty cool set-up there, that I really think could be used in a live setting. A lot of options to explore. - RP
