I agree, it was probably a yearling, and being petulant because mom's busy with her new calf. Seems to be common with moose, I guess--I watched a similar interaction up in Canada once, with mom actively shooing away last year's calf.

But it was still big enough to do some serious damage if it wanted--one worry was the guitar I had sitting out, but fortunately it was out of the way enough that it didn't get moose-stomped.

Is anyone else having issues seeing images linked from Imgur? All the links, either mine or from others with an Imgur address are broken for me.

They are working for me. I occasionally do get on some posts with just a tiny corner folded icon and no image, but usually if I just clear my browser history that fixes it

Grmmph. Thanks Kev, cleared my cache and history and still getting the broken links. I'll look into it further.

EDIT: Ah. I'm logged in through work VPN and that's doing it. Logging out I don't have the issue. Never mind!

Default Lake Susan

This is the lake close to my house - a frequent photo subject on my daily walk.

This particular morning the lake was unusually calm, so I caught this real-life fractal, under a glowering sky.

Visited the area where I grew up this weekend, Humboldt County. The Sky Walk in Sequoia Park Zoo is not to be missed if you're up there.

It was weird, this really tall, pretty lady with long hair and a silver gown and this huge ring kept asking me to look into a pool. I thought she was some kind of hot tub salesperson so I just left.

Some more photos from my trip to Humboldt. Most of them from when I was driving home from a funeral by myself, and in a pensive mood. Drove past the road which heads up about 2000 feet to Kneeland, a very small community east of Humboldt bay. Nice to have some time to myself just to shoot photos. Nothing spectacular, but really enjoyed the time. I hadn't been up there in decades, and just really enjoyed the beauty of the place, and all the nostalgia from being home again, by myself with no distractions.
