Mayson MS1 Primrose - LR Baggs Anthem (Engelmann/Mahogany) SOLD (likely $80-$100 depending on location). Would prefer a local DFW area face to face sale. This may be the best sounding and playing guitar that you've possibly never heard of, and likely the first time you’ve heard of this brand. Mayson was making a big splash at NAMM several years ago, however when Covid hit it really shut things down for a while. I would put Mayson on par for sure with the likes of Eastman, Takamine, etc. This is an all solid construction with all wood bindings/purflings out of China. Prior to me owning it, this guitar was owned by Travis Bowman (Winfield fingerstyle champion) who is sponsored by Mayson and has a couple of these he plays regularly (his signature model - same body style, different woods). Gorgeous creamy Englemann top paired with natural finish mahogany back and sides. Again, all solid wood construction on this beauty! Ton of bang for your buck here… The LR Baggs Anthem electronics alone are worth $300.00. This is a special model called the Primrose for it's aesthetic and inlay details, but it's an MS1-SCE2 under the hood. Basically identifies as a cutaway with the LR Baggs Anthem installed. After purchasing this guitar last year, I took it in for a setup and wound up having it Plek'd at Tone Shop Guitars here in the DFW area. The frets and playability are now perfect after having the Plek job done. This service cost me just shy of $250.00. Fantastic sounding and easy playing guitar with one of the best pickups on the market. The neck has a modern C shape that's extremely comfortable to play. The soundhole rosette inlays and 12th fret inlay are unique and stunning looking. The receipt for the Plek job, as well as the original Certificate of Authenticity for the guitar are in the inside case pocket. Original Mayson branded hardshell case is what it lives in.
