Unless I missed it, this weekís video was unusual in that there were no guitars with red, blue or green CF.

An interesting shipping video today - I enjoyed the interview and performance with Emerald employee Miro, which also gave us a bit of a look at how these guitars are made. I was under the impression it was a one-piece mold (somehow - that's how Black Hills Gold jewelry is made), but we see Miro filing the edges where two pieces come together, as well as doing the fretwork and fretboard radius.

And, as always, some beautiful guitars heading out to owners who are filled with anticipation.

Nice job on today's shipping video.

From memory of other conversations on the subject, and watching the gestation of the Solace, I believe itís a two-piece mold. The body and neck are laid up in one side, the top in the other, and then the two are joined to be cured. The guitar then comes out of the mold as a single piece, but with some trimming being needed, as seen on the video.

Thereís (at least) one person on this forum who knows exactly how its done, but he may not be willing or able to comment for a whole variety of reasons

I know of no other way to make carbon parts. You have a mold, which you then coat in release agent. Lay the carbon and resin over the mold. Then you need an internal bladder to compress the layers. Close mold, pressurize and heat.

I think we missed a few shipping videos.

August 12:

August 19:

And today's video, August 26:

I was kind of surprised by the crystal ice finish at 10:22. It is nice to see this option returning, but why does the neck still have a gloss finish? The neck is usually the first part people want to change to satin for a smoother, less sticky feel.
