Default Traded my 314ce for a Taylor T5z today

Ordered today from GC, the trade-in plus the trade-in discount helped nicely.
Got the tobacco color. Will be arriving next week.

I have wanted a T5 for along time (and lately a T5z), the push I needed to actually buy one is funny though.

I recently asked my downstairs neighbor if my new guitar (the Rainsong) bothered her and she said it was too loud. I had some soundproofing put in when I moved in so I was surprised she could hear it at all. I asked if she could hear me sing (I can sing loud when I want to) and she said no, only the guitar comes through, yeah it is a loud guitar.

So after a few days of thinking about what to do, I ordered the long-desired T5z (the thinly veiled excuse works for me here).

You did the right thing. Love the look of the T5's.

What is the nut width? I couldn't find it on the Taylor website.

Thanks!

A friend of mine has the T5 and it's a wonderful guitar. One oft he best playing "acoustic/electric" guitars I've ever tried.

It's supposed to be a 1 11/16" nut width, 12" radius, skinny neck, meant to feel like an electric guitar.

Talked to my neighbor today, she cannot hear the T5z.

I am rather enjoying playing on it, restrung it with acoustic strings (Martin PB's), got used to its "small" acoustic tone. Bought a THR10 amp for it, my neighbor says she can't hear that either.

So the T5z is a complete success so far.

Funny that a Rainsong unplugged is louder than a T5z plugged into a small amp.
