Several years ago, I dumped about 80% of my CDs onto my computer. It was about 12 gigs of stuff and took forever so I made several back-up copies just in case something happened to my computer. Mostly I had been using this music stash to burn compilation CDs of my favorite tunes for listening use in my car. I knew I had a USB port in my car, but had never thought much about it until I read online that it's possible to hook up a flash drive to the port and access music that way. Last week, just for fun, I hooked up one of my flash drives that was a back-up copy of my music download. O..M..G! It's the best thing ever! I put it on "random" and now it's playing songs that I'd never really listened to that much because I had only been burning my favorite songs to my compilation CDs. So...what am I listening to right now? A little bit of everything.

Camel A Nod and Wink (2002)

Okay, so sue me - I love Brit prog rock. It This is Camel's latest studio album. Between Andy Latimer's health and the band being spread over two continents it makes studio albums a little tough. They do, however, get out on the road every two or three years and just last winter put out Camel Live at Albert Hall, a one-night-only video/audio recording from the last soiree on the 2017 tour.

Surfing YouTube, I came across a full concert by David Bromberg and a full band from 1977:
https://youtu.be/JYFBZwQizfA

This has a lot of the material he released on his first album and is quite a stew of blues, bluegrass, and R&B. Bromberg has always been a fine musician and a great entertainer as well.

Thanks, I'm gonna check that out! He played my school right around that time and it was awesome (I'd never heard of him before the concert).

I just listened to side one of "Katy Lied" by Steely Dan.

Reminded me what a player Phil Woods was--his solo on Dr. Wu is a thing of beauty.

My heart goes out to you. I like the same kind of music, and it can be pretty tough stuff at times. It must have been fun for you at some point to put that much effort into it. I hope you can rediscover the joy in listening to and making music. It doesn't have to be "good" (whatever that means) to be fun!

If you want to check out a guy who really breaks things down and spends a whole lot of time explaining things there is David Hamburger. He is teaching live for free right now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWbL...ature=youtu.be

Sad to read that Peter Green passed away recently.
This is a great album of hits from the Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac.
