New Original Tune: "FRETFUL"
HI folks...and happy weekend!
This tune has been with me for quite a long time and I finally found my way to recording it last weekend....one take!!! But many hours leading up to that moment! Love those moments, but they don't come often! Not my usual style.....lots of single notes in this one and it took a while to understand what I wanted with phrasing, dynamics and such. A tip of the hat to Tom Doerr and his marvelous Legacy build which I think makes this type of piece shine with overtones, sustain and tone. "FRETFUL" (slight play on words with guitar frets!), is pensive, contemplative and.....well, "fretful" with a bit of resolve toward the end. Hope you enjoy and thanks for listening! Fred

I really enjoyed that, Fred. Such a beautiful light touch you have on those single-line notes. After a fretful day (turned out fine in the end) this one made me smile.

That sounds just lovely on my Neumann studio monitors! What a lovely sounding guitar! Every time I hear one of your recordings, I marvel at the sound of that Doerr Legacy! And a wonderful job to you on the quality of this recording and of your composition! Very sweet! Lots of luscious round tones, great sustain... Wonderful! - Glenn
