Default Pickup Imbalance

So I just recently completed a telecaster build using a Warmoth body and neck.
I got a Klein Custom Broadcaster pickup for the bridge and and fender vintage '64 neck pickup. Omh reading on the broadcaster is 8.6 and the '64 is 7.4. For some reason the neck is way louder than the bridge. I've lowered the neck/raised the bridge probably too far.. It has helped but neck is still louder.

Any ideas on what could be the issue? Surely the broadcaster isn't actually lower output? Could it be a wiring issue? Bad pickup?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Could be normal what you are hearing. Even though the DCR reads higher on the bridge, the neck pickup could still produce more output because the string moves more over the neck pickup than the bridge. I'm sure there could be other factors too (magnet strength, etc,) but pickup location is the strongest factor for output imbalance between the neck and bridge position in my experience. Also the boomier tone from the neck position that may be wound dark, can sometimes overshadow any true difference in output.

I forgot to mention to check the obvious first and make sure you have excellent point to point solder connections and the switch contacts are good too. I've seen plenty of bad connections that affect output and performance of a pickup.

Thanks, I will check the connections, its an obsidian wire solder kit, so the wires just plug into sockets and clamp down. Ill email Klein if that doesn't work. Its a broadcaster pickup so I would have thought the output would be higher.. Pole pieces are plush with the pickup, bigger diameter magnets..
