7 days to go...

Well, the guitar is now at the finishers. Here is what it looked like before it left:

In the meantime, Jason has a few little other things to take care of...

Cheers,
Steve

2 days...

These are the last pics before I have it in my hands, taken a couple of days ago.

The bridge is coming along nicely:

Onto the guitar:

Time for some frets - those ends look sharp to me!

Now that looks much more comfortable...

Some bridge pins...

And, finally, strings! I don't think the saddle slots or set-up is done yet - the guitar is "resting" with the strings in tension, and set-up will follow.

I must say though, this pic really "does it" for me. Very excited now!

That's it. Over and out.

There will be some pics of its delivery into my hands this coming Thursday, followed by some general guitar-fun I'm guessing - Jason and Michael Watts are coming up here. There will be the inevitable A-B comparisons, but I've sold some nice guitars to make way for this so the comparisons won't be as interminable as usual.

It's then off to a summer get-together at a friend's house Saturday, that has become a bit of an annual event here in the UK. I know there will be some astonishing guitars there (including Sobell, Bown, Kinnaird, Petros, Baranik, Traugott, Forster, Greenfield, Brook) so I'm looking forward to hearing how this one stands up. Fingers crossed!

Cheers,
Steve

Ditto!

Fraid I can't make the summer gathering but I'm sure you'll be turning a lot of heads with this. It looks absolutely stunning. Bet it sounds incredible too.

This is making the remainder of my 18 months or so wait for my mine even more agonising ... I'd be happy, of course, to volunteer my guitar sitting services in the interim!

This is lovely! I'm really liking the use of quarters to clamp the bridge on! Using only the highest quality copper/nickel clamping cauls he can find!

This is sure to be an amazing guitar and this thread was a lot of fun to watch! Thanks!

P.S. anyone know what Jason uses for finish on his guitars? Is he a french polisher of the top?

Great guitar love everything about it! Does this guitar have Nitro finish? It seems with how quick it was done that the finish is Catalyzed Polyester. Congrats on a great guitar.

I lied! Jason had time to knock off a couple of pics of the finished and set-up guitar before it went off to a "pro" shoot, and sent them to me yesterday. This is excruciating! As I sit here typing, the guitar is on a plane over the Atlantic. If all goes to plan it should come through my door (with Jason!) in exactly 4 hours from now...

Cheers,
Steve
