Best 3 songs that kick off an album
Tell me what album has the best opening 3 songs on it, that make you want to turn up the speakers/headphones. Bonus points if one of the songs is largely acoustic.
Here's mine: Sticky Fingers -Brown Sugar -Sway -Wild Hoses

Certainly NOT an acoustic album but the one that always pops in my mind is Deep Purple's Machine Head. The opening song, Highway Star, literally got me out of bed and to high school for most of those 4 years. The first three are:
1. Highway Star 2. Maybe I'm A Leo 3. Pictures Of Home But then again the whole album is excellent ending with 5. Smoke On The Water 6. Lazy 7. Space Trucking Oh, and the fourth is Never Before, also great. Pound for pound, song for song, one of my all-time faves and one of the all-time best. |
