Default UPS Tracking Question....

Although I suppose it could just as easily pertain to any of the shippers that we typically use, have you ever either sent or were expecting to receive a shipment whose tracking information continued to merely indicate that a label had been created and nothing more until delivery???

Yup....just went through this very thing shipping an expensive guitar for a friend.

Tracking info did not appear until it was actually out for delivery. Scared the bejeebers out of me...and the buyer!

I got a notice that my delivery was going to be late. Then I noticed it at my front door.

I've had some vagueness with USPS. Something like "has been sent to shipping partner" then without any update it will on the porch.

Yup. The web based tracking is nearly useless for UPS and especially USPS. My wife has better luck with the UPS app on her phone, FWIW. My last guitar shipment from Emerald showed nothing between Sligo Ireland — until I got an email saying “‘failed delivery for unpaid customs fees”.

After no updates since the UPS label was created last week, my new Rainsong CO-OM1100NT showed up this morning. I had previously expressed my concern to the dealer in Colorado and they checked into it. What's especially strange is that Big Brown typically enters my neighborhood late in the afternoon. All's well that ends well...at least this time.
