Arrow SOLD Halcyon Custom 000 12 Fret Adi/SA Mahogany

Received this one in a trade plus cash a few months back. Intended to flip it for sale until I played it. Holy cow, does this sound good!! I've heard good things about Halcyon guitars but now I also agree and believe. No frills whatsoever but a rich sounding instrument with surprising projection. Beautiful set of South American Mahogany on the back. Quite frankly I'd probably keep it if I didn't already have my custom Bayard 000 Adi/Figured Mahogany. That I paid nearly 3x for!

Condition is excellent. There are a couple of minor impressions from being bumped along the way. Still a small chip in the E string bridge hole that you cannot see unless the pin is removed. (See link from original listing below. Contains a few lovely sound clips)

You will notice two differences - 1) I upgraded the tuners to Gotoh 510 Delta Series Antique Gold ($110) and 2) Removed the clear pick guard and installed a Thinwood Martin OM style figured walnut pick guard ($40).

First off, if I didn't already have 3 Halcyons, I would buy this... so hopefully somebody grabs it immediately.

Second, I am pretty sure that this pickguard was cut from the same piece of walnut veneer that I helped Roger source for my walnut b/s Halcyon SJC. Small world, and great choice on that one!

Back up for another look!

Nice looking pickguard DM3DM! Just make it four man. Lol. Seriously these are really nice instruments. Like my listing says I was pretty surprised by the quality of build and tone.

Where are these made Jeff? Wow Kronbauer a thing of the past. I am looking for a good wood acoustic to play slide on. I don’t want to mess with the Northwood action. But this could be a good choice.

Where else Rich? Canada! Ed Bond is based in Vancouver and comes from the Jean Larrivee tree. Was with Larrivee from 1996 until 2012 when he launched Halcyon. Prior to that he had built acoustics under his own Tinker Guitars brand.

May I suggest a remedy JIK? 😄

Truthfully it’s an amazing little guitar. Won’t find this much guitar at this price point. Sold my Taylor limited today. This one is becoming dangerously close to being kept.

I have a Mahogany 12 fret 000, and they really can sing! Mine is almost always my 'go to' guitar when I'm playing at home.

Did you change your mind about flipping it?
