I should spend time on the guitar theory forum, but It’s a relatively common descending progression.

I think i tabbed that correct. Not sure what the 6th chord is either...D something...
How would you do the Amaj/C#? Sometimes, I do it like this, a Dsus2/C#

A/C# - What TJE said except there would be no other way to achieve this exact sound. Not near a guitar but if it's possible to do with your pointer finger on the C# bass note or somehow the thumb then this voicing would be unique in that it would not involve an open string.

Just going on the sketch, the notes are (bass to treble) :

E (open string)
C#
A
C#
E
-X-

Note that while the treble E string is x'd out, the bass E string is not.

So some sort of odd sounding/fingered A Major chord is indicated. With an open E bass string.

This is predicated on the simple fact that the sketch is aligned such that the nut is at the top. If the alignment is different, then the answer is different.

Given the context, which appears a progression in the key of D major, I’d call that 6th cord a Dsus2/F#. Again, there are easier fingerings for that one, too, though perhaps that voicing preserves a single note progression with the overall chord progression.

That has a nice sound to it. That chord is used in the Damien Rice track ‘The greatest *******’ in an ascending progression. Dsus2-Dsus2/F#-Dsus2/G-AsusA-Bm-F#-G-AsusA... with a few H and P’s thrown in For color.

I’m sure there are some more elegant ways to do that progression. I just used the example to show the chord in context. The bass note leads the chording, but using another could be a nice way to augment the predictability.

Yes...nominally this is A/C#, otherwise known as A major, 1st inversion, since the third of the A maj triad is in the bass (if you're in the key of A major), but as pointed out, there is no "absolute" name of a chord. It depends on what key you're in and what function within that key the chord serves, also whether certain chord tones have been removed.
