Default Telling myself it’s just a hobby. Fix my boo boo.

EMERGENCY!! Lol

My back plate is a hair too short for my sides. What would you do? Bend binding around the back until it fits?

They're not boo boo's they're features.

I did the same thing recently so I centered the plate and added a wide purfling.
l routed a ledge wide enough to to cover the boo... feature.

The biggest mistake I ever made building Guitars was to take it too seriously.
Have fun with it and know you can always find a way to fix the "features"

It's not a mistake unless you can't fix it

Slice it through the centre and add a feature strip into the middle, re-attach your braces and so forth

Exactly. Boo boos make for an opportunity for getting more decorative.

Default Binding and purfling options...

Depending on how short the back is you can gain at least 2mm around the perimeter as you’ll be cutting a binding channel later. If you use wider linings then you can increase this figure and make the purfling full depth as well.

That makes it wider, not longer.

Now, after building more than a dozen acoustic guitars over the last four years, I find that my construction techniques and skills have improved a bit. My "boo boo"-fixing techniques and skills, however, have improved A LOT -- and are required almost as much now as they were in year one.

So cut it at the waist and add a strip?

Just kidding.
