Good on ya Bruce , you've been jones'ing for one for so long!
Are you selling the Epi, then?

I've had two SJ200s, a '90 Natural which I eventually sold and my current one which I like better.

Thanks Stomp, I missed out with the 2016 Limited Edition 1957 SJ-200, just couldn't find one.( and US dealers can not ship new Gibson guitars outside USA)
When I saw the new 2020 Historic Series here on the AGF I contacted 4 Australian Gibson dealers - they didn't have a clue what I was talking about so I went straight to the Australian distributor for Gibson guitars - these are so new they didn't even have a product number/model description from Gibson USA!
They priced it for me and gave the OK to order it through a dealer.

Here's a clip from NAMM 2020 showing the new Gibson Custom Shop Historic Series.

ETA 4 to 6 months .. could even be more.

Similar to the 2016 Limited Edition 1957 SJ-200 - new 2020 version has thermally aged Sitka Spruce top, the 2016 version was thermally aged Adirondack.
New 2020 model includes a 'period correct' hard case.

Yeah, Bruce! Congrats and good luck on The Waiting. It was your frequent mention of the special edition 2016 version that led me to the last one I could find in the summer of 2017. Look forward to your NGD post :-).

The Original Workhorse
The allure and legend of the Gibson J-45 lives on in the new Custom Historic 1942 Banner J-45. Inspired by the holy grail of vintage acoustic instruments, luthiers in Montana meticulously crafted a J-45 just like the most popular and celebrated version in structure and components. The new 1942 Banner J-45 includes a Thermally Aged Adirondack red spruce top hand-sprayed with a historic-style burst, hot hide glue top bracing for better tonal response, and a bone nut and saddle.

p.s. I sent you a PM today.
Thanks Bruce!

That link is going to be a very big problem for me:-)
