I'm sure different things work, but I am not holding my elbow out, and only relaxing my forearm. I don't even know how one could do that as suggested. My entire arm is relaxed, so elbow is pointed down naturally (unless I need to reach), but elbow is not actively tucked in (which would also need tension, I suppose). Only the fingers are firm, not tense and pressing, just firm in position. What approach are you taking, perttime?
