2020 not 2920 and that 30 second strat clip is a piece of my life I'll never get back.

Why do people distort their guitars like that? Simply awful! There can be so much beauty in a guitar, that distorting it is like dumping ketchup all over a filet mignon. Wait ... there ARE people who like to do that. Hmmm...

I'll be the dissenter, I still love cranking up an electric guitar and bashing out some loud, distorted chords.

Cool, sounds like the OP is rocking into 2020 with his Strat.

I love playing clean and with slight breakup, but sometimes it’s fun to crank up some distortion and rock out.

To each their own. When I play acoustic I play clean but electric guitars just beg for distortion and volume IMHO. My beef with this post was the incredibly vague (and in fact misleading) Title with a link leading into just a bunch of playing but not any song or recognizable melody.

Let me explain...on the Strat Talk website they have. A thread called Rolling Riff Challenge that has members post vids of them playing a Riff and the members then guess the song. The rid I played is distorted like that.I like it but it may be inappropriate for this forum.

"The rid"? Clearly the poster means to say, riff.

Perhaps this is a peculiar parapraxis by the poster, but I wouldn't go so far as to suggest that the poster should get rid of it.
