Zoom R16
As soon as I can find the right deal, I plan to acquire a Zoom R16.
I currently use a Tascam DP-02, which I REALLY like the controls, interface, results, etc. BUT the limit of recording only two tracks at a time is not good for me. So... the Zoom with 8 inputs and 8 tracks record at a time, 16 total tracks - this appeals to me. If any Zoom R16 or R24 users have opinions or experiences to share, I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks very much, MIKE |

I love mine. The only complaint I have about the R16 compared to the Yamaha AW16G that I used before is the lack of a foot switch for punch in recording, but you can do that manually if need be. It's a very versatile piece of equipment & for quick recording on the fly, the built-in stereo microphones work really well. I always just record directly to the Zoom R16 & do all the mixing & mastering of tracks through either Cubase or if I'm in a hurry, Audacity Portable.

I have the MRS-8, not the R16 but this Yahoo group has been a big help to me and I believe many of them could help you with R16. Friendly group, kinda' like this one.
