I'm new to the AGF and Hatcher Guitars but must say you have an absolutely amazing gift. You're guitars are truly the finest I've seen. Am anxious to follow you along the journey. Thanks!!

Default Neck Work

Here are a couple pictures of the neck coming together:

The face plate is from "The Tree". It has Macassar Ebony binding like the body and Maple purfling.

Here are the mother of pearl side fret markers going in:

On the back of the neck we have cross grained Macassar Ebony and Maple borders in the center laminates and the back of the headstock is also Macassar Ebony.

Thanks for viewing!

Default That was hard.

Well that was a harder than I anticipated! After doing the flourish on the rosette my plan was to carry the theme over to the arm bevel. Except rosettes are pretty flat and arm bevels, not so much. After several tries and various techniques and I got it done!

Now that I have that figured out on a convex bevel it's time to take what I learned and carry it over to the concave cut-away bevel for another flourish to balance it all out!

Default Cut Away Bevel

I have the Maple and Holly flourish in the cut away bevel. Here is a picture showing all the inlay work:

I just have clean up work to do now and it will be ready for finish. That's when all that figure in the top and back/sides will all come alive!

Those inlays are AMAZING. Just love it........I don't think I've ever seen anything like that on those surfaces. Congrats on a spectacular job.

Default Ouch..

.. so pretty it hurts... a piece of art.. those 3 inlays really come to life as a composition... and the one in the cutaway bevel just has 1 wing and that is perfect.... subtly underlines the asymmetry of the upper bout....
and then the imagination of those wood patterns in back and sides, top and fretboard under finish..
Flabbergastingly beautiful I bet.
A looker ! Kudos Mark, yet another unique Hatcher !

I think that inlay is exquisite, Mark. It all works together brilliantly. I swear, you are going to convert me from my Spartan preferences yet!
