SOLD...1971 Gallagher '71 Special' w/provenance
SOLD....Selling a piece of rock/pop history! 1971 '71 Special' built by J.W. Gallagher . Owned and played by Rick Roberts of the 'Firefall' band .
Original Grover gold tuners, pickguard. Play wear as can be expected; lacquer checks on the top, a little belt buckle rash on the back, a scar on one side , lacquer crack on top near centerline. Great setup with easy action, new saddle, loud and great Gallagher tone. Reminds me a lot of a 50's D-28 sound. 1 11/16" nut width ; neck profile is a prominent V shape. Comes with a very used Mark Leaf case with many historical , worn stickers from Firefall days. Inside is very good. I think it has a red spruce top , but I'm not basing on a fact. E.I. Rosewood back & sides. Sound sample available. Papers showing past ownership . Last edited by TBar1956; 08-14-2022 at 07:50 AM. |

Happy to see interest in this Gallagher. My band Denim toured with Firefall back in the 70s, and Rick was pleased to see that I played a Gallagher G70.(Still have it, made in 1967) From what I can tell their new guitars are worth a look.
