Default Scales progressive training regimen?

Does anyone have suggestions for a progressive training regimen/course for mastering scales beyond position playing, to gain fluency up and down the fretboard?

I know that there's a lot you can study and figure out on your own, but I tend to be disjointed with what I pick up that way. I'd love it if there's a comprehensive course that will ease you in little by little to improvising fluidly through different positions on the fretboard with a variety of different scales and modes.

I know this is a process that will take years, but am looking for something more thorough than the random learning I'm doing on my own now (mostly in response to songs I'm interested in).
