If you like bursts you will like this #3for BIG
It’s a slope shoulder dread with b/c Sitka top, ,maple back and sides, and walnut trim. The fretboard and bridge are the only foreigners. Well the tuners are Schertlers so there might be a little German DNA on the peghead
That’s a maple leaf on the back.

This was already spectacular before getting finished - now it's art gallery grade. How do people play guitars like this without spending the whole day just staring at it.
I suppose we all need then some boring but effective instruments to play out, and jewellery like this to look and sigh over at home. Hopefully it does actually get played. |

Did the bearclaw get some extra treatment to bring it out that much? Perfect having it fairly evenly distributed and symmetrical like that.

John Kinnaird is a certified Master, so why would he use anything less? That burst, or shade, or whatever sub-species that is, looks absolutely fantastic, and 100% original. What a stroke of genius, to do it that way. It's a visual feast. John, I'm almost scared to ask- do you have a fourth one waiting in the wings as well? 'Cause if you do, I might have to seriously consider changing occupations to something I'm better at- like sweeping up the wood dust in your shop and making sure there's fresh coffee brewing. I can do that pretty well. Do you need an apprentice?

Mine get PLAYED

Kids, If you think these are just for looking, think again. No way I am gigging with a lesser axe. My three JKs get a LOT of play time, and I have high hopes of getting a bunch more stage time in when the crud recedes some more. Cheers Paul

A trifecta of amazing instruments! What are the measurement differences between this and the Graybeard?

Spectacular wood. Every single piece you used on this one, has the major wow factor, right down to the walnut. Love the effect the burst has on those woods.
What a trifecta you’ve built for BIG. Congratulations |

I don’t know. Raised a few glasses in a bar perhaps. It’s all in the sound. We shall see. Quote:

Thanks Tom. We shall see about the big leagues after folks have played them. I have lost sonic objectivity and a fair amount of auditory discrimination
. I think it just might be you sir. You have not posted your BIG instruments and I feel sure you guys have something amazing in the works. Quote:

What? A Scot with no words? BTW I see that you are from the Fife area. Steve and I were just there not a month ago, and in fact met the duchess of Fife. Very nice lady.

That is a stunning looking instrument, all the way around! I can’t decide if I like the top or back better! Both look fantastic in the burst!
