I play at least an hour a day, but not necessarily acoustic guitar. Some of that time is working up parts to record, so not exactly practice.

You said up to, so my 1/2 hr ish most days counts. I dont really practice any more. I play my tunes casues they need improvement but I love to hear the sounds my guitar makes playing them. The right guitar eliminates practice.

Although I don't "practice" as such - I wouldn't say "practice is for suckers" or any other similarly offensive statement.

I am old and been playing longer than some here have been born, I don't "practice", but I rehearse - when necessary.

A second to Andy’s post. I don’t play every day, but many days get in 60-90 minutes. It typically averages to over eight hours per week, so my vote was one hour. Mostly I work at keeping the finger style repertoire under my fingers and keeping my library of songs in playing condition. Learning totally new material is secondary. However lately I have been playing more per week. With my ankle in a boot to allow the Achilles tendon to heal, most normal activities are limited. But it IS getting better.

Mon -fri I ge up at 6 so I can practice 45 min before work. In the evenings I will practice 10 to 1045 sometimes more. Weekend I try 2 hours each day. Family obligations, tiredness usually affects 1-2 days, but that is what I strive for.

If I can maintain that schedule I feel like I could take a last minute solo gig any time. Practice, I working new material and maintaining my repitoire. I have been doing this schedule for 3 years and changed my format from classic rock to older country. By the way since I stopped doing classic rock the gigs dried up.

Couldn't have put it better myself - well said. I'll rehearse a new song for an upcoming gig, if necessary, but, otherwise, they sit in the corner. Been playing a long time and I never play anything the same way twice and I don't learn anyone else's arrangements so there's really nothing to practice.

Last few years maybe 30 minutes and mostly to be putting together some original composition. Have been in the hours a day category in past times.

I play between 1 and 3 hours a day, but only a small portion is what I’d call “practice.” Most of my time is spent noodling around, playing stuff I already know, and playing just for the fun of it.

It’s really nice to be retired!

I play for as long as I can possibly manage in a day,but I don`t really practice. It`s now just a process of maintaining, and adding,to my repertoire.
Old age.

I'm trying to box up and/or get rid of 30 years worth of junk so that my wife and I can move to California. I have had zero time to practice. Maybe when we get to California.

I work long hours...but I'm also lazy. I would love to crow about practicing every day, and hours a day...but in truth, I probably practice 3-5 days a week and probably an hour or just a tad more since I don't really look at the time.

After saying that, those are also stats that have probably contributed to me not being any better a player than I am now as well.

As with some of the folks here "of a certain age" , I usually play more in the fall, winter, spring which could be 1 to 1.5 hours a day and some days not at all. But in the summer it's less as I work seasonally a few days a week and it's physical work and I'm hot and tired through parts of the week, so I'll go some days without reaching for the guitars.
If I'm working on a project.....a CD, refining a new tune, or even small gig, I'll "up" that time and break it up with several segments through a day. I've found this helps toughen the fingers and sets the tunes in the memory bank more effectively.
