Default Incoming NGD Yamaha A3R ARE Limited Edition

Really excited about this one. I’ve played a standard version unplugged and really liked the neck. This one has the black top with white pickguard which looks kinda cool to me.

I’m looking forward to using the SRT2 pickup. Does anyone have any experience using it live? A couple of pictures of the guitar taken by the store who were very responsive and sent over photographs of the different models they had in stock.

Hello, congrats on a sweet new purchase! I had owned an A5R with the SRT2 and the simplified controls were less daunting that the controls of the first generation (which I had also had). You get one fewer mic model, and the AFR is a little different. Also, no body resonance control or no mid range eq. Nonetheless, dialing in a good usable tone was not difficult. I preferred a 50/50 blend of modeling to piezo. Panned all the way to modeling leaves out the boomy bass. Panned all the way to the piezo sounds (not overly so, but a fair amount) like a hint of the quacky sound. I would run my trebles at 11 o'clock and my bass at about 12:30.

Let us know how you like it!

Thanks - I probably would have found the 1st gen SRT easier to use with everything being labelled! Hopefully I’ll get on fine with this version. I’ve previously just run my zero impact pickup through a soulmate acoustic pedal and had decent results. I’m hoping I can ditch the pedal with this pickup.

Just thought I’d post a quick update. I’ve had the guitar since Friday. The fit and finish is flawless. I had to spend a little time deepening the nut slots to get the set up perfect.

I’ve done done gigs this weekend with it and i do like the pickup/Preamp it’s really user friendly and it’s easy to adjust on the fly. I’ve attached a link to a couple of pictures I’ve taken myself.
