Just fantastic. You should treasure this, and both be very proud.
Hi Keith!

Well, you really made me laugh!

I do treasure this kind of thing. As Emma's mom commented to me, it's not very often that a grandfather and grand daughter get to do something like this together. So I do treasure this.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment, Keith! Much appreciated! Stay well out there!

Thank you RW!

Thanks so much for the very kind and supportive words and thoughts! Having a female voice sing this song does give it quite a different feel, even different meaning. I agree with you! I'm so glad Emma was willing to do this with me!

Stay safe out there RW! Thanks so much for listening and taking time to comment! Your comments are greatly appreciated!

Glenn!
Asking Emma was a great decision for this song and together with your soothing playing on that great guitar made this a much pleasant experiment.
Thanks for sharing this. Peace and love to you both from cross the pond.

So, Glenn, I guess music runs in the family . . .

Beautiful, precise, and a pleasure to watch and listen to. You should be proud as a musician and grandfather.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Dave!

Thank you very much for taking time to watch and comment! I'm really pleased that you feel this came out well!

Yes, I guess some level of musical ability runs in the family. I do feel good about working with Emma, for sure, as both a musician and a grandfather! I have been very fortunate in so many ways; I'm very grateful!

All the best to you, and stay safe out there, Dave!

Glenn/Emma.....very beautiful and thank you for posting.....

I don't know too much about music or singing but when I heard Emmas voice, it reminded me of Sarah Brightman in the Phantom....and your playing wasn't bad either.

Thank you for sharing this special moment in your lives with us.

Thank you John!

Yes, thank you for noticing -- it was a special moment!

Sarah Brightman and Emma do have a similar sound to their voices when they get up high, though Sarah Brightman is a whole lot older and as a result, has a lot more depth in her voice. It would be hard to know how their voices would have compared at age 17. Thanks for your thoughts on this and the compliment.

Thanks too for the compliment on my playing. I tried to keep the accompaniment fairly simple to fit the character of the song. I tend to think the song was written on the piano based on some of the unusual voicings in the bridge sections. David Gates did have training on the piano, I believe from his mother. This song accompaniment was fairly easy to memorize so that I could pay more attention to following Emma.

I appreciate your taking time to listen and comment here, John! Thank you very much!

Apparently, you've passed on your talents to subsequent generations. A pleasure to hear.

Great rendition of this timeless song, Glenn. What an absolute blessing it is to share this with your granddaughter. She will remember this her entire life, and that’s a treasure in itself.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Wonderful job.

Thank you Roger!

Thank you for the kind thoughts! I think you are right: Emma will always remember the experiences of making a few videos with me.

A lot of people who are performers don't really understand the value of recording, video or audio. But I have seen in my life that having these recordings to mark places in time turn out to be very valuable as life marches on.

I'm very pleased that she was willing to take time out to do this.

I hope all is well for you Roger! Stay safe out there!
