Little help if possible....
First I know very little about audio equipment and software. I had a little logitech stick mic and thought it would be great if I got a real mic and hooked it up to my computer. I got a Shure MS57 and the plug in interface (Shure X2U) to get the USB connection.
I have Audacity and a video/audio program (Power Director) I bought a few years ago. I have been trying to do some trial recording of some acoustic songs. The main issue seems to be getting the volume set correctly. There seems to be a very fine line between too low a volume and screaming feedback. I am having to set the gain almost full it seems. Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated! Thanks Jim

I've never used a usb mic but would imagine you need to mute the output of your soundcard when you're recording to eliminate feedback.

Turn off the speakers and plug in some headphones.
