Default Another Guitar Tuner Post D'Addario Content

Looking for reviews, comments on the D'Addario Sound Hole Tuner.

I purchased 2 of them and so far, I'm not overly enthused with them.
I have a hard time getting my guitar to sound like it's in tune when this tuner tells me that it is.
When I go back to a Snark, after tuning with the D'Addario, I have to retune the guitar and then it sounds like it is in tune.
Both tuners are set to 440.

Does anyone like them and have suggestions as to how to make them work better?
Are they worth using?https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...oundhole-tuner

I'm using the soundhole tuners and don't have a problem with them.
You've got me wanting to compare them to my old snark...

I've got the soundhole tuners in both my acoustics and plan to get one for my Gretsch electric. Like them a lot, only thing negative I can say is that they seem to respond kind of slow, but after using them a while I got used to it.

Don’t get a Kala Klipz rechargeable.

Just kidding, get one because it’s awesome. I’ve just found when I sing its praises around here I’m met with a blank stare. Their loss.

Trust me. Or miss out. Your choice.

I also haven't been able to bond with those soundhole tuners at all. I just gave up and use my unitune instead. Dead on everytime.

Sometimes they will respond to a 12th string harmonic when they won't pick up the natural low E.

I have a Daddario sound hole tuner. The problem with mine has been the battery somehow dies after a couple of days. I always made sure it was off, but for some reason there must still be some sort of power drain. I'm going to contact Daddario and see what they say. Battery life aside, I liked using it.

That sounds like a bad one. I've been using them for several years now and they have an auto-shutoff after 3 or 4 minutes. I find batteries last longer in these tuners than in the Polytune I also have and relative to Snark's I've owned before... If your's is dying after a couple days, there's something wrong with it...

In terms of accuracy, with both at 440, the D'addario is very slightly flat relative to the Polytune, but both seem equally consistent string to string. I was having problems with a guitar sounding like it wasn't in tune recently when the sound hole tuner insisted it was. I checked it with the Polytune and the Polytune said it was too, but it still didn't sound it. Intonation problems evidently, but neither tuner was the problem - they're both great with my other guitars...

There was a bad batch early on, which exhibited that behaviour. Mine was cheerfully and promptly replaced by D’Addario.

It works beautifully in my Martin, so that’s where it lives.

I have them in all of my acoustics. If the battery isn't fresh they sometimes struggle finding the low E, but the 12th harmonic gets it. As far as accuracy, the final tweak I do by ear anyway. These get me close enough.

I agree with something being wrong with it, but I'm going to put a new battery in and give it one more try before I contact Daddario.

Default Another Guitar Tuner Post D'Addario Content

I used the sound hole clipon tuner for a while. I don’t think they are the best tuner, response-wise, but it’s nice that it’s always there and mostly invisible. I like that the headstock looks uncluttered!
Two downsides to me - on a guitar with non-standard finish, one left a permanent discoloration. I stopped using them after that. It’s also a little hard to see the display.
I love most D’Addario products!

I have one of those D’Addario Soundhole tuners, the one with the green display (PW-CT-15) which lives, virtually unused, in my desk-drawer. Far too ‘twitchy’ on the low ‘E’ - I really don’t want to be fannying around tuning to the 12th-fret harmonic at the same time that I’m trying to communicate with an audience to give them an interesting introduction to the next song - plus it won’t fit my Lowden and Brook because they have a soundhole reinforcement ring which makes the top effectively too thick.

Does anyone know if the newer version with the colour display handles the low ‘E’ any better than the the ‘green-screen’ type? https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/produ...0aAtCaEALw_wcB

I think they are still fidgety on the low E...
