But to fit this, i have to offset the actual center line ( joint of back plate half). But i think, if i glue any how on Rim, back will be in shape after binding channel routing. |

Started working on Top, using go bar deck and 28 foot Radius Disk.
Using Teak wood 4 mm, 26 inch long strips as go Bars, cost me just 2 $ for 50 strips. Teak wood is easily available in India. https://www.flickr.com/photos/192348...res/s61XMq2J7j |

Some more pics, after gluing , brace starts swiming, i used small wood pieces with double sided tape as stoper and removed later, learn this trick from Eric.
Also just want to mention , that stewmac braces are scalloped at cross joints and this produces some gap between scalloped faces, i used saw dust and spruce pieces to fill this gap, but stewmac should leave that palce as square for proper fit. https://www.flickr.com/photos/192348...res/006h2J1083 |

Martin braces were similarly pre-shaped before the CNC braces came along in the 1990's. Some Martins have slivers of spruce glued in the gaps. The cloth patch hides the evidence.
This one point is why I have always glued the X braces on before shaping them. |

Just finished the top bracing, some sanding and small work is required.

In India, climate changes every 3 months from high humidity to 20% of Humidity and very hot. So I am thinking to put a thin 2 coat of shellac inside of Guitar via Brush, pl suggest if it's OK.
Also wants to know from experienced builder, that what type of shellac gives what color, like lemon shellac, brown and other, i dont have any idea. Any thought will helps me. Thanks |

Im enjoying watching the pictures, and Im impressed with your English. Im sure I could never learn an Indian dialect. But what we have in common is a love of the guitar. You must love it to want to build one. I think your doing fine though I consider a mold essential. It helps in so many ways and is easier to make than the dish jig you made.
Anyway, what color shellac you use wont matter, its on the inside. But I have read the finishing the inside doesnt help. You need to have a hard case, a hygrometer, some means of getting water in the guitar like a Music Nomad or Oasis or even a perforated baggie with a damp sponge inside. For the wet months you can get Silica gel that will dry things out but you must check every day. If theres a problem now, build a box to put your partially built guitar in and other parts with silca or a cup of water etc. |

Thanks Brother, but i know , my English is not ok, but do job for me.
On entire guitar, i have not think about what polish i do, but shellac seems as easily available in India.so just want to order from local supplier and asking in forum. Pl let me know the preferred shellac type pl . From Feb 20, the climate will go from winter ( 8 degree) to summer ( 45 degree by April) , so keeping finished part in a hardshell with humidifier is good idea. If you want to see India, you are most welcome . |

I would use a blonde or very light coloured shellac on the outside as your guitar will darken naturally with age and exposure to sunlight.

Thanks for reply.
Just glued the back braces , here are the pics https://www.flickr.com/photos/192348...res/Yx7BE2k46u I feel 3 things while gluing: 1. The back is very narrow and short at shoulder and lower Bally. I have asked in this thread also, so will fit it by compressing, so no issue. 2. I could not found any center line on this Rosewood back, i tried, but no success. 3. I think , that both half parts are not equal in size. They used different size halves as back, that's why no center line and narrow on shoulder and lower Bally. Don't know, but my thoughts. |

Center lines are over-rated.

Just a joke. Other than we like the look of it there is no reason the seam has to be centered.
