Default Lap Steel (6 String) String Suggestions

Borrowing a friend's lap steel. Wanted to tune to C6, but I could tell the strings on there wouldn't stretch that far. Put on a DIY hybrid set of electric guitar strings from the drawer, but they're a little light feeling and sounding.

What strings do C6 tuning players normally use?

Thanks.

I got this from the Steel Guitar Forum. It's pretty handy.

Also, if you go to someplace like Just Strings you'll find C6 string sets are available.

Morrell Music makes C6 string sets

Can't say whether they are the best, but lap steel guitars are their main focus.

I use John Pearse c6 strings on my lap steel. They make sets for 6 and 8 stringed lap steels. Here is their chart you might find handy: http://jpstrings.com/brstring.htm#haw6

There's a chart of tunings vs. string guages at the page of my old website detailing lap steel construction information.
