Rudy, if I understand you correctly you drill a hole the same diameter as the barrel inserts in and along the length of the heel, or tenon, and they then can slide to what ever position is necessary for the two holes that you drill in the head block?

The vertical hole is drilled a tiny bit larger than the barrel connectors and they are coated with Titebond Original, aligned with the horizontal 9/32" holes and bolted in position (aligned with the tenon holes) until the glue dries. The heel block holes are drilled later to facilitate easy alignment. No need to precisely drill the heel block holes before they are needed.
