Yea essentially that. In other DAW's Quick Swipe Comping that I have tried, all the takes are essentially locked in their position in time horizontally. So you expand all the takes vertically, and then use whatever swipey tool to highlight the specific parts from each take, assembling a comp. That works great for something like a vocal track or drums that are recorded to a click, but not so much for solo guitar, where one often may not use a click, or play more freely.

In Logic while viewing takes you can turn off comp mode, giving you access to Logic's standard suite of editing tools. This allows you to chop up audio regions and move things left/right, etc. Then go back into comp mode, do some swiping if you need, and then export all the regions to a new comp on a new track. At least thats what I usually do.

This is probably better explained in video.

Well I have not tried in anything but PT where you don't need turn off the comp feature You simply select a section of a clip of any alternate takes (playlist, as PT calls them) hit the key command to slice it and then just drag it left/right

Ill play around with S1 later to day and report back

REPORT:: So I could not find a way to do that without promoting it to the main/comp track then you can slip it (but I am pretty new to Studio One so take with a grain of salt
