Hi, hope it is useful. This is to support/accompany an article in the latest Acoustic Guitar Mag. I haven't seen the print version yet myself, but it appears to be available in full online:

http://acousticguitar.com/home-recor...oustic-guitar/

There are more details and discussion in the article than in the short video.

Here's the video directly:

BTW, I think this issue also has an interview with Eric Skye (min7b5 here)!

That was very informative Doug! I got a couple of new ideas for recording from watching. I may have to invest in iZotope Ozone 8, for example. Thanks for the efforts, Doug!

Thanks, Ozone is well worth having. I kept things really simple for this demo, and didn't want to emphasize any specific tool, but Ozone has tons of useful features.

Great video Doug. This inspired me to go back and try spaced pair again. I think I am liking it better than ORTF now. A bit wider and bigger sound. I even went to Guitar Center today and picked up two of the exact mic stands you use in the video. Much better than my larger ones, now I don't have the boom arms extending two feet behind the stands.

Thanks for all that you do.

Thanks, Anton, glad it was useful. I go back and forth on mic placements. Those mic stands are great, perfect height for guitar, and really save space. I was tired of full-sized booms taking up half the room. One nice addition that I usually use, (not in the video, I don't think), is these counter weights:

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...-counterweight

One on each leg, and the stands aren't going anywhere, nice for heavier mics (for big mics, one on the other side of the boom helps, too), and even with smaller mics, nice if you end up wanting to extend the booms a lot, or if you have animals that like to knock things over!
