Default Anyone have a Electro-Harmonix POG

If so would could you post a sound sample with an acoustic? I am looking for something that is somewhat close to a 12 string. Does not need to be perfect or I would buy a better 12 string.

Curious minds.

video of someone using the micro pog with an acoustic guitar. i think he turns it on somewhere around 3:50 where you can hear the high shimmery sound. dunno if you could really call that a 12-string sound though.

the bonus is that he's playing a taylor. the catch is the sound quality isn't great.

I own the POG. I actually bought it to simulate an electric 12 string. It does a fair approximation, but not super. I had a six string Rickenbacker 370 that I wanted to sound like a 12. I wound up selling the 370 and buying a used Rickenbacker 360 12 string to use in place of it. The only thing I have been using the POG for lately is some home recording to get the church organ sound, which actually is pretty cool.

I posted those videos of the micro POG and just now realized you were talking about the POG, not the micro POG. my mistake.

Thanks for the replies; Sorry for the confusion maybe? I am looking for a video/audio clip of the best POG sound you can get for "the" acoustic 12 string sound. These simply do not fit the bill. Not that they are terrible, they just are not real, I want what I want and these are not it.

Me thinks a real 12, a good 12 is in my future.

I only used the pog for electric guitar. I tried it on acoustic and it wasn't very effective.

Default Effects

The only effect I’ve ever tried that worked in this regard was a Godin with the hex output into a VG-99. The Godin was far better than the Roland G3k pickup in my opinion. The California Guitar Trio had used these on acoustics and did some really amazing things with them. I had a VG 99 that I mostly used with my electric guitar and the 12 String was actually my favorite effect. However I sold it as I hated being tied to an effects box via an external pickup. The capabilities vs all the hardware got old really quick.

I’ve not tried them, but some of the Line6 Variax looks better. My recommendation is either buy a real 12-string or get a doubleneck acoustic like I did. Much more fun having the real instrument vs an imitation in my opinion.
