Default Perfect Pitch

Has anyone had any experience with those Perfect Pitch ear training instructional CDs that advertise in music magazines?

nnvan,

I have just started the course. I'm on lesson 3 of 23. So far so good but early days. Check back with me in a month or so.

Hey, proy, I think I asked you this last time around, but I just want to repeat that we (or, at least, I) would be very, very interested to hear what you think about this course after you've gone through it. Every time I pick up a guitar magazine I linger over the ad, wondering if it would be worth it. I've tried similar programs like that in the past (e.g., speed reading) with little or no success, but I'd like to hear if this one really works. Hope you don't mind if I consider you my guinea pig! (I'm very fond of guinea pigs, for what it's worth)

Happy to be your (and anyone else's guinea pig). You may have to hang in there with me though. I don't have much time at the moment and the pace may be a little slow.

So far, it's very logical. He uses a color metaphor i.e. the ability to distinguish between different notes is no different to distinguishing between red, green, blue etc - it's just that we haven't been trained to do it.

Stay tuned (how's that for a pun)
